I wish PVHS could get rid of Faye Garrison, assistant principal. That woman has way too much of an ego to be in an administrative role, just impossible to deal with. I wish she would find a new career where she doesn't have to interact with other people, because she isn't very good at it.
Not saying I didn't like her. I am moderate as far as what I think of her goes. A family emergency occurred once and coincided with senior skip day and I had to miss school that day and I gave her my excuse and I could have lied and said I was sick but I didn't so she looked at my excuse and had a look of disbelief on her face and said "we can't help that school comes first" and gave me unexcused and my Dad went and he confirmed the truth I told her and she excused it.
A lot of the times she's been nice to me.
But one rule she made in December made no sense and it's not because I didn't like it either. We got a rug that says "Powell Valley Vikings" and she laid it on the floor at the main entrance and said no one could step on it. Why put a rug on a floor if you don't want anyone to walk on it?
I really would like to see Hadey Robinson come to the Wise Primary School, after Dr. Birchfield leaves us after this upcoming year. Ms. Robinson's was a wonderful princpal at the L.F. Addington Middle School, I just wish she would come back to Wise instead of going to Coeburn.
I know I'm a little late with this post, but I feel like I have to throw in my two cents. The fact is that Mrs. Robinson got shafted. I know it's happened to many others in the past (especially with Basham), but she took her share of licks from him too. It just sucks that the new guy is even worse. To take away someone's job and then make them reinterview for it is just downright humilitating. And giving the job to someone who has worked under her for the past three or four is even worse.
I don't know if anybody saw it. But there was an article in the Kingsport Times where she had been voted as an outstanding teacher of the year or something like that. Even if you don't like her or don't agree with her. You've got to admit, what happened was wrong.
